Here are simple reminders on how to maintain good cardiovascular health:

Keep physically active.

Whether it means being committed to a full-time sport, going to the gym for exercise, or simply moving about around the house—regular, moderate physical activity is good for your heart. Avoid being idle and above all, don’t fall into a sedentary lifestyle. Experts recommend at least 30 minutes of physical activity every day.

Maintain a healthy weight.

Achieving and sticking to your ideal weight can greatly reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease as well as a host of other related illnesses. You should know your body mass index and be conscious of your waist measurement. The higher your waistline is, the greater the risk for heart disease. Get enough sleep.

Taking care of your heart also means taking care of your mental health. Avoid stress and ensure that you get the recommended seven to eight hours of sleep a day. Sleep is an important phase where your body rests and recharges, and your heart will definitely appreciate this opportunity.
